SNEAKER HISTORY
The Women’s New Balance 550 “Silver Birch” is a women’s-exclusive release of the vintage basketball shoe with a versatile look. After being unearthed by New Balance with the help of Aimé Leon Dore in 2020, the 550 model has been one of the most popular shoes in sneakers. The “Silver Birch” colorway features white dotted leather on the mid-panel and smooth white leather on the toe, collar, heel, and overlays. A Silver Birch “N” logo appears on either side of the shoe. Additional Silver Birch accenting is found on the nylon overlays on the collar, on the embroidered “550” branding on the forefoot, and on the “NB” detailing on the heel. The hue is also located on the rubber outsole beneath the chunky white midsole.
